I kept trying to "be better" which led to some perfectionism and hyper focusing on healing, which, in the end, armed me with power and a toolbox that was absolutely necessary for my healing. I started to allow my higher self to be my "God". I built trust within myself and slowly, but surely my happiness increased and less and less people had control over me.
